Rough Diamond Planner


Okavango Diamond Company (ODC) is a premier rough diamond marketing company, offering global customers open access to a large-scale supply of rough diamonds sourced from Botswana. As the principal supplier in the sector, ODC represents the largest guaranteed source of Botswana’s diamond production within the industry. Currently undergoing an exciting transformation, ODC is seeking dedicated, self-driven professionals to join its dynamic team.
 
Reporting to Specialist Diamond Valuer, this role plays a crucial role in maximizing value for ODC by evaluating diamonds for quality, colour, cut, and size to determine their optimal polished outcome. You will support ODC’s revenue growth by managing diamond planning and pricing from procurement to sale. Key responsibilities include: researching market trends and manufacturer preferences; crafting product narratives to showcase ODC diamonds’ unique value and using specialized tools to assess rough diamonds, enhancing valuation and profitability.
 
A minimum of a BGCSE (Cambridge certificate) with at least 5 years of experience in diamond industry is required. Tertiary qualification in business administration, commerce, economics or related will be an added advantage. Extensive experience and knowledge of the diamond industry, particularly in rough diamond planning and valuation, complemented by strong analytical, market research, and reporting skills is essential.
