Development has significantly progressed at Motheo, with the mine now officially opened and production ramping up towards the initial 3.2Mtpa processing capacity. We are seeking a highly skilled Processing Optimization Manager to join our team and drive innovation in mining operations.
 
Reporting to the Processing Manager; Key Responsibilities include:
• Develop and implement process optimization strategies to achieve business objectives while upholding health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Lead and manage process plant optimization projects, ensuring alignment with business plans, budgets, health and safety and environmental standards.
• Oversee research, plant surveys, and metallurgical test work to support expansion and optimization projects.
• Monitor and ensure quality assurance in metallurgical test work, in accordance with design and specification and providing detailed feedback to contractors and site management.
• Serve as a key company representative for plant modification projects, including acting as project manager or technical expert.
• Leverage business improvement initiatives to optimize production and reduce costs.
• Track project progress and provide updates with actionable recommendations to maintain schedules.
• Manage and execute process department capital budgets and forecasts in alignment with company strategy.
 
Qualifications:
• BSc in Metallurgical, Chemical Engineering is required. A Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
• A minimum of 15 years post qualification experience in mineral processing, with at least 10 years’ gained in technical and leadership roles.
• Copper and other Base metal flotation experience required.
• Experience managing a multi-national workforce in a leadership role.
• Registered Engineer (or eligibility to register).
• Strong background in process plant optimization, improvement studies and project management required.
