Head of Risk And Compliance
Our client, a transforming organisation in the financial services sector, seeks a highly experienced Head of Risk & Compliance. The successful candidate will develop and execute a robust risk management, compliance, and financial crime prevention framework to effectively identify, mitigate, and minimize organizational risk and potential losses.
Key Responsibilities:
•Risk & Compliance Frameworks: Develop and implement comprehensive enterprise risk management, compliance, and financial crime frameworks, encompassing strategy formulation, policy creation, processes optimization, and governance structures.
•AML/CFT Oversight (AMLCO Role): Serve as the regulated Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Officer (AMLCO), ensuring strict compliance with the Financial Intelligence Act. Direct AML/CFT strategies, oversight mechanisms, and regulatory reporting.
•Compliance Monitoring: Design and implement compliance monitoring plans, oversee conformance reviews, and supervise control-testing activities, including customer due diligence, sanctions screening, KYC verification.
•Reporting: Prepare comprehensive risk and compliance reports for internal stakeholders and the Board, and ensure accurate and timely submissions to regulatory authorities.
•Leadership & Training: Provide strategic leadership to risk, compliance, and AML teams. Develop and deliver targeted training and awareness programs aimed at fostering a robust compliance culture across the organization.
•Regulatory Change Management: Proactively track regulatory developments, ensuring prompt integration into existing frameworks and clear communication throughout the organization.
•Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate and maintain effective relationships with regulatory authorities, law enforcement agencies, and compliance industry forums. Facilitate regulatory inspections and represent the organization in relevant external engagements.
•Operational Loss Monitoring: Establish and oversee incident management processes and operational loss reporting systems, designed to reduce and mitigate operational risks.
You will need:
•Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management, Commerce, or any relevant discipline
•5–10 years of progressive experience in risk management and compliance, preferably within the financial services industry.
