We are seeking an accomplished credit professional to lead our end‑to‑end credit function. You will shape and execute credit policy and strategy, ensure robust risk controls, and drive sound credit decisions across the portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Credit Policy & Strategy: develop and implement credit policy and strategy; adapt to market trends; set mandates and manuals, and implement automated credit solutions.
- Service & Consulting: Provides guidance to branches and Credit Managers with respect to all credit matters; roll out credit training; enforce turnaround‑time standards.
- Credit Assessment & Aftercare: Oversee loan origination, underwriting and post‑approval monitoring; lead rehabilitation of non‑performing loans and early identification of high‑risk exposures.
- Reporting & Administration: Produce monthly and quarterly portfolio performance reports for Management and Board; manage the credit department’s budget and coordinate regulatory filings.
- Legal Collections & Actions: Direct recovery strategies for impaired assets; manage legal collections processes. Liaise with credit bureaus and draft exception/security documentation.
- Collateral Compliance: Ensure accuracy and completeness of collateral documentation, report exceptions to credit committees and oversee guarantee controls.
- People Management: Build, mentor and develop a high‑performing credit team. Lead performance management and talent‑development initiatives.
Candidate Requirements:
- Education: A minimum Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law or related. A Master’s degree in Finance, Law or related will be an added advantage.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years credit or credit risk management experience with 5 years of senior management experience in a credit or financial services environment.
