It’s a unique opportunity for someone who has already demonstrated brilliance and mastery in a complex investment environment. In this role, you will develop strategies for managing, rehabilitating, and maximizing recoveries on distressed and complex investments exhibiting significant increases in credit risk. You will utilize innovative techniques to identify early warning signs of distress, assist in curbing further distress, and monitor implementation plans for rehabilitation and rescue mechanisms by clients.
 
Reports to: Portfolio & Risk Director.
 
Key responsibilities:
  • Preparing restructuring and structuring investments for downside protection.
  • Developing and optimizing internal processes and systems that support the Special Assets Management unit.
  • Ensuring compliance with laws and regulations across various jurisdictions concerning recovery matters.
  •  Maintaining adequate credit impairments in line with IFRS.
  • Additionally, you will represent Norsad Capital in conducting risk-based country visits to investee companies, manage legal matters, and represent Norsad Capital’s interests in creditor meetings.
 
Qualifications, Experience and Requirements
  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or sciences/engineering.
  • At least 10 years of post-graduate experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role within a complex investment environment.
  • Ideally, you would have gained experience in corporate debt workout, credit control, turnaround management, business rescue, managing a portfolio of distressed corporate investments, and negotiating with creditors and liquidators.
  • Strong understanding of finance and accounting principles, legal procedures, private equity and credit, and risk management practices is essential. Possess strong analytical, financial modelling, and presentation skills with extensive exposure to Sub-Saharan African legal systems.
