Our client, BBS Bank Limited is a public company and a licensed commercial bank in Botswana that provides financial services including secured and unsecured loans, savings and investment products. The entity demutualised from a building society in 2018 to a company and subsequently obtained a commercial banking license. The bank is in an exciting journey of transformation, with a view to broaden its offering and gain competitive edge.
Our client prides itself as a home-grown commercial entity with a vision to be a leader in providing bespoke financial solutions in Botswana. In its quest to become a leader in the market, our client wishes to recruit proven leaders with track record to provide governance oversight and strategic direction.
Therefore, it seeks expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to join the Board of Directors as Independent Non-Executive Directors.
To add value, you should be commercially driven, passionate and a highly strategic individual who is able to provide and exercise independent judgment in the governance of the bank. In addition, you will be expected to utilise your skills, knowledge and experience as a key member of the decision-making body.
Experience
You must have served in an executive management capacity within the financial services industry, preferably in banking.
Skills:
Financial Reporting; Accounting and Audit Practice (Chartered Accountant); Commercial banking;
Assets and Liabilities Management; Risk Management and Legal and Advisory.
Qualification:
Relevant qualification in your respective field from a reputable university and have a distinguished track record as a professional who upholds high ethical standards.
In addition, you must meet the regulatory fit and proper requirements. You are required to provide your time commitments and assurance that you have sufficient time to fulfil the responsibilities of the Board.
