Chief Finance Officer
Botswana Housing Corporation is seeking a suitable candidate for a Chief Finance Officer position within the Corporation. Based in Gaborone, the organisation seeks a visionary leader who will add value and drive the strategic and operational effectiveness of the organisation.
Overview of the Role
Reporting directly to the Deputy Chief Executive Officer-Corporate Services, the position is responsible for the following:
Planning, organising, management and controlling the provision of financial management and accounting services for the Corporation
Job summary
- Responsible for execution of the Corporation’s financial management and accounting strategy
- Responsible for planning, organising, managing and controlling of the provision of financial management and accounting services to the Corporation to ensure the accurate and timely maintenance of accounts and financial reports, cash flow management and maximisation of revenue.
- Responsible for the achievement of the Corporation’s statutory, organisational and commercial business objectives
- Responsible for optimisation of investment income to enhance the efficiency of the Corporation
- Responsible for ensuring availability of comprehensive financial management and accounting management policieS.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with international accounting standards and procedures.
Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge
- Education: Degree in Accounting, Finance or related fields.
- Professional Membership of a recognised institute e.g. ACCA,ACA,CPA,CIMA,BICA
- Post graduate qualification in Finance or Accounting will be an added advantage
- Minimum of ten (10) years post-qualification experience in accounting, financial management or related fields of which five (5) years should have been at middle management level.
- Experience with the management of computerised accounting system and detailed knowledge of operating IT systems to enhance the quality of financial management and accounting.
